This modern landscaping project in Tytherington, Macclesfield was completed in August 2012. After a site consultation a design was produced to expand the existing patio area, and create a modern, practical outdoor family space. The clients preference for black slate paving, creates a bold contrast with the white K-render walls. The old enginneering brick wall was removed and the ground excavated to extend the patio area. A new retaining wall was built using 9inch concrete blocks, to retain the raised lawn area. The strong lines give a clean contempoary feel to the garden, with new raised railway sleeper beds, creating new planting space for a mixture of low growing colour and established shrubs. The addtion of two water features creates an acoustic element in the garden. The lower water feature being a stainless steel rill with intergrated blue LED strip lighintng, cascading over a pool of duck stone pebbles. The upper water feature is a stand alone slate monlith, gently trickling over the surface of the stone, surrounded by swathes of soft grassess. We also installed an integrated remote control ligting system adding colour and atmosphere to the garden after dark. The project was completed over a period of 5 weeks at a cost of £15000.
