The clients both being designers, had set out a clear vsion of how they wanted the garden area to look. After clearing the garden using plant machinary and good old fashioned man power, the clients were suprised by how big the garden actually was. The new perimter fence line accentuated the size of the newly cleared garden space. The garden was to be split into two terraces, making use of the natural ground topography. This would allow two seperate areas for sun bathing and relaxing in the summer sun, and hosting barebecues and entertaining in the warm evenings. A solid 4" block wall was constructed around the garden, with a raised bed acting as a retaining wall. The walls were renderred using off white Krend exterior render. This silicone based render is perfect for garden area, as it is waterproof, pre coloured and extremlely hardy. The bright renderred raised beds reflect the light back into the garden accentuating the blue/grey colours of the limestone paving and highlighting the wonderful assortment of natural planting colours. The use of bamboo gives a soft natural back drop, with hints of a mediterranean feel with the use of palms, phormiums and aloe vera plants. The project was completed over 16 days with a final build cost of £9000.
