About the project

This landscaping project in Bollington - near Macclesfield was completed in April-May 2011. The existing garden space was tiered and in desperate need of rejuvination. The clients wanted the new garden area to be somwhere to sit and relax with their young children, and enjoy areas of planting and visual interest, with a modern theme to replicate the contempary styles of the house. The modest sized plot was used to full effect, with the raised rendered beds adding splashes of colur around the edge of the garden. The patio area was laid using dark slate paving paving, which gives a wonderful contrast against the whites of the walls, and the bamboo and lawn area bring the rich green garden tones into the new outdoor space. The inclusion of garden lighting brings the garden to life after dark! The joy of landscaping is that organic decisions can be made and included throughout the build, and my favourite was the addition of the floating bench; constructed using hardwood Ipe Decking. (I have to give the client credit for this one!) This landscaping project in Bollington was completed in 17 days with a total build cost of £9500.
