About the project

At Home Ground Landscape Gardening we have designed and built a variety of garden buildings and outdoor rooms for our clients in Wilmslow, Macclesfield, Alderley Edge and the surrounding area.

We worked closely with the client to design and construct this garden building in Wilmslow. The client wanted a large workshop room with somewhere to house a washing machine and tumble drier.

The old brick garage was demolished making way for the new garden building footing and concrete floor. The concrete floor is approximately 80mm thick, with 100mm of celetex insulation board laid underneath to provide insulation against ground frost and severe cold temperatures. The garden building was constructed by building timber walls and roof line, these are then strengthened using 21mm OSB boards, giving the garden building more form. The clients chose to use feather edge boards to finish the garden building. The feather edge boards laid horizontally ensure the rain water falls down off the buildings facade. The feather edge is fixed to treated batons with a layer of rubber roid waterfproof sheeting fitted to the entire surface area of the building.

The tiled roof and upvc windows provide further water and weather proofing to the new garden building.The garden building is fitted with a mains electrical ring and internal and external lighting.

The garden building has provided the client with ample new storage space, and the wooden construction is sympathetic to the garden area.

This garden building project in Wilmslow, Cheshire was completed over the course of 15 days.
